Unix Programming - Command-Line Options - Portability to Other Operating Systems
Portability to Other Operating Systems
To have command-line options, you have to have a command line.
The MS-DOS family does, of course, though in Windows it's hidden by a
GUI and its use is discouraged; the fact that the option character is
normally ‘/’ rather than ‘-’ is merely a
detail. MacOS classic and other pure GUI environments have no close
equivalent of command-line options.
